Building Permits
Do you need a copy of an older building permit or need to know if one exists for a current building or structure? Before you work on a project, it's always a good idea to know beforehand if the existing structure is built to code or not.

If a home, patio, or even a solar panel was not built to code, a new permit than meets City and County standards needs to be obtained. Hawaii RMA can help you find out if a permit exists and get you a legal copy so you can sell that home/commercial property or make modifications appropriately.
Deeds and Trusts
A deed is a legal contract that documents a transfer of ownership of a property. A trust is a legal document of who actually owns the property, as well as who the beneficiary is. Hawaii RMA can obtain a legal deed or trust (certified) for you so that you have the documentation you need to sell a home, building or property. It can also help a Contractor identify who the legal owner is before applying for a new permit.
With the influx of multi-generational families living in Hawaii, it is important to clarify who the legal owner of a property is by obtaining its deed or trust.
Building Plans
Whether you are building a staircase, adding a fence or doing a major renovation, you must provide detailed plans of an entire structure in order to obtain a building permit.

Hawaii RMA can assist you in researching for old building plans and save you much valuable time. Before you begin a project, let us help you determine if plans are still available before you begin drafting by scratch. We will obtain up to two physical copies of building plans for each TMK or address.
Department Approvals
Before you build any kind of structure on a piece of property or make major alterations, you will need to know whether or not the property and/or existing structure meets various code requirements. For example, "Can I build multiple homes on a particular property and if so, are there enough wastewater connections for me to do so? Is the existing structure built to fire code standards?"
